I’m Sylvia Phelps—pen name Sweet Dueces—your neighborhood poet, author, and speaker with a soft spot for hard truths, naps I don’t get enough of, and a deep love for the beauty in everyday chaos.

Born in Champaign, Illinois, raised under the Florida sun in Jacksonville, and honestly going wherever the wind, God, or my next coffee takes me, I believe words have power—and I use mine to inspire, challenge, and occasionally roast you into becoming your best self.

My work centers around faith, femininity, and freedom, reminding us that life, even in all its messy glory, is worth showing up for (even if you’d rather stay in bed scrolling memes). Whether I’m writing poetry that hugs your soul, speaking life into crowded rooms, or building stories that leave a mark, I’m here to keep it real, keep it kind, and keep it moving—even if I need a snack and a nap first.
